Bring a song or two that you're working on, give out parts to other members, and experiment with different arrangements and approaches!

WORKSHOP HOST: Phil

NOTE: This is SONG WORKSHOP, not a JAM (although a little jamming usually does happen naturally). The focus of this event is to allow members the opportunity to bring one of their own songs, teach it to the other players, and then run through it a few times with everyone playing on it, to see what the song sounds like with different approaches and different musicians. If you are mainly interested in jamming, you should attend one of the JAM events instead.

You'll be able to take advantage of the other musicians in attendance, and see what your song sounds like with different combinations of players.

(Similarly, you'll be asked to play along on other people's songs when it's their turn to workshop one of their songs!)

- When you RSVP below, please include a note as to what type of song(s) you're bringing and what you hope to be able to do with it during the workshop.

- Please come prepared and bring chord charts/lyrics to help other musicians play/sing on your song.

- Feel free to e-mail other members through the Meetup site to prepare any details in advance.

This event will be taking place in Rooms 1 and 3, meaning we have both rooms at our disposal to split up into two different groups as desired. Musicians who are part of our group will be able to move back and forth between the two rooms. Altogether, there should be many different players available for the two rooms.

In addition, regular musicians attending Jam NYC that day (who aren't necessarily part of our group) will also be available and may be included in the workshop if the group so desires.

The workshop will be a supportive atmosphere. We are there to SHARE and LEARN not to CRITICIZE.

(Drums, amps, keyboards and microphones are provided by the venue free of charge... Guitars and basses, however, may be RENTED from the venue for a fee of $5.00 each for the length of the workshop. Of course, you are always encouraged to bring your own!)

Afterward, we usually continue the good times by grabbing some dinner next door at the Irish Pub!

This will be my first meeting and I look forward to it. I am a song writer for many years and it will benice to get a different perspective on where I can take my song(s). I also hope to hear others songs and hopefully will have something to contribute to others as well.
