CD Baby members are invited to Puccini's Golden West Saloon in downtown Albuquerque on WEDNESDAY May 16th at 5pm (done by 8pm) - for an informal dinner-and-drinks meet-and-greet, hosted by CD Baby VPs Jamie Chvotkin and Sean Croghan.

In a room full of musicians and various music-biz types, it's best to bring some business cards and CDs, and be prepared to tell the room what you're looking for, and what you have to offer.

For example: in past get-togethers like this, someone will stand up and say, "My name is Michelle - I'm a flamenco guitarist, available for hire if you need, and my band is looking for a photographer." Then someone else will stand up and say, "I'm here visiting from Phoenix, but if anyone wants to gig-swap to help my duo book more gigs in the Albuquerque area, I can help you book more gigs in Phoenix."

COME HUNGRY, and order dinner when you arrive. Puccini's Golden West Saloon is kindly hosting this for no special charge on the understanding that most of us will be ordering food and drink.

    •  I expected nothing, found it useful for a number of reasons. Good to have a 1 on 1 exchange with CD Baby people.
    •  It was a good meeting - laid back and informal - glad it wasn't an inspirational "50-ways-to-promote-yourself" type agenda
    •  It was good - both Jamie and Shawn were great! Snacks to go along with the event would have been even better, because of the time it started... you need food to keep people around longer. Just inexpensive food trays from Costco or Sams. Or, have your next event at a bar/restaurant. But please come back to Albuquerque! Like to show Jamie and Shawn around to some good restaurants in town. I hope they get to see some sights around Albq. before they leave.
    •  I think it was a great event. Its always cool to meet all the interesting Musicians.
    •  really great to meet very nice guys from Cd baby, also to network with other people. I really appreciate the intention and effort to create connections for all musicians.

People were Great! (Esp Jamie & Sean)
    •  The two hosting reps were great. I'm sorry I don't recall their names. I came hungry, expecting food but remained hungry since there was no food available. It was helpful to meet some local musicians but I feel like a more upscale venue would've been better. I guess I'm not a bar type.

The two CD Baby reps has some good information on how to shop my instrumental music to the film industry.
    •  It was in a dark, musty location, reeking of cigarettes. I do play in clubs, so I am use to this atmosphere but it wasn't the best place for this type of meeting, from my side. but , everyone was friendly and all questions were answered.
