Hello New Meetup Friends

I know many of you live far away and it is really soon, but I wish to invite all to 24 Hours of Free Music

This weekend in my little part of town, a beautiful street event is happening. Thousands will flock to the Ocean Beach Street Fair to enjoy sun, fun, and music all day. What better day, I thought than to stage the third installment of 24 Hours of Free Music. It has been three years since our last 24 Hours and the time is ripe now.

Alongside my Tuesday night Open Mic and my Thursday night songwriters show at Portugalia, a very special scene of gifted artists has blossomed. Everybody treats each other with respect and the support has helped everybody grow as artists and individuals. I am doing this show to share that with you and all of our new friends visiting from the Ocean Beach Street Fair. Traffic and parking can be rough during the Street Fair so expect delays. Arrive early and stay late and enjoy music by the people and for the people. We are the people.

We hope to see you Saturday. If you are wandering the fair, stop and see me on the acoustic stage, playing an acoustic set from 4:30-5:00. Otherwise, I'll be at Portugalia for a long time. Stop in and say hi.

Included below is more info about the show and the lineup. 24 Hours of Free Music T-shirts are in and look great. I can't wait for the show. Peace

OVER 70 MUSICIANS TO PERFORM IN OCEAN BEACH

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ENJOY THE VARIETY OF MUSICAL TALENT AT JEFFERSON JAY?S 24 HOURS OF FREE MUSIC. THIS IS A FREE EVENT, OPEN TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, 2AM-2AM ON JUNE 28 IN OCEAN BEACH, SAN DIEGO.

Ocean Beach, CA -- As if the OB street fair isn?t good enough reason to head over to Ocean Beach on a summer Saturday, here?s another good motive:
24 hours of free music.

Some music lovers will break the law to get a few minutes of free music. On June 28, you don?t have to. Jefferson Jay?s 24 Hours of Free Music event will feature 70 musicians from all genres -- rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, acoustic songwriters, and more -- with something for every taste.

The show begins at 2AM on Saturday, June 28 and ends with a jam session at 2AM on Sunday morning, May 29. This one-of-a-kind music marathon will showcase a diverse array of unique personalities, local talent, and musical styles -- including blues, country, alternative, funk, folk, rock ?n? roll, world music, pop, jazz, and hip-hop.

With an incredible breadth of performers, a round-the-clock schedule, and an inclusive environment -- this is going to be an experience unparalleled in San Diego County.

?With the quality of artists we?ve assembled, I am confident everyone will find a new favorite musician to enjoy right here in town,? said event organizer Jefferson Jay. ?We?ve got a strong lineup of diverse music all day long for FREE. How can anyone argue with that?? And the schedule is prolonged enough to outlast even the most lengthy of work shifts, so there?s no good reason to miss out.

?We want everybody to be included. Our goal is to build rapport between local musicians and the greater community,? said event organizer and founder Jefferson Jay, who also is a music teacher in San Diego. "

So head over to Portugalia, located at 4839 Newport Ave. in Ocean Beach, for this original event. Music will begin on Saturday at 2 a.m. (also known as Friday night) and play until 2 a.m. Sunday morning (a.k.a. Saturday night) during the 29th Annual OB Street Fair on June 28. Arrive early and stay late at Jefferson Jay's 24 Hours of Free Music.
