We got a letter from Hilltop Records saying they want us to consider them for possible arranging, recording and distribution on their new CD album project. Has anyone heard of them? Comments

I have heard of Hilltop Records.

You must have just sent in your copyrights recently.

This is one of several "record labels" that purchase copyright lists, and basically respond to writers who have recently sent in copyrights.

I would say to avoid this type of deal because they want you to pay a fee, and they will have you sign a disclosure that states they can (and usually will) change your song's genre or anything about your song that they want.

I know it must feel good that someone is interested in your music, however, I don't feel that they are truly interested in your music, just in selling dreams.

This is my opinion in dealing with such companies.

I hope this helps and keep jamming!!!

I'm pretty sure that there have been some complaints registered at the Better Business Bureau about them not paying residuals, or something to that extent...
Yeah, I agree...stay away...
There is also a "sister" company nearby that does the same thing...can't recall the name, but they were located on Vine St in Hollywood as well...
