So I will be bringing Darbuka Dave to Atlanta for a mini-workshop on Saturday, September 26th. Here's the info:

What: Drumming for Dancers and Non-Dancers 101;

Darbuka Dave of Huntsville, Alabama's Lumani will be conducting a 2 hour workshop on the basics of playing the doumbek. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to play the Middle Eastern tabla, a.k.a. doumbek in the classical Arabic style. Baby beginners and players of all levels are encouraged to attend the workshop to work on their technique.

When: Saturday, September 26th 3PM - 5PM
Where: Awalim Rehearsal Space - 1031 Reeder Circle, Atlanta, GA (Please bring your own chair or floor pillow to sit on, parking is limited, carpooling is recommended)
Cost: $20 for the 2-hour session

Also join us on Sunday for our music salon, same time, same place. Dave will also be there rockin' out the percussion section.
